Breathe In...Breathe Out.....Experience The Calm Of Fall
Let’s face it life ain’t easy. Relationships fall apart, things don’t go as planned, and sometimes it seems like stress is around every corner. Managing life and staying calm amidst stressful situations takes work. Too much stress can cause problems on the skin. Each of us can benefit from easy techniques to help calm us down in times of impatience, agitation and anxiousness. A deep breath in and a deep breath out can really be calming, but there is a method to breathing to relieve stress. This week our YELLE Beauty team is sharing a few breathwork tips to helpyou manage stress and to help keep you calm.
Basic Breathing Exercise
The next time you find yourself losing patience try these five steps suggested by Breathwork Healer Chauna Bryant creator of untetheresstrength.com. This breathing technique can be applied anytime and is simple to use. First, sit still and observe your breath. Secondly, count how long it takes to inhale and exhale. Next, try and add one second to each breath. Thirdly, once you have reached a calm place, begin to breathe through your mouth in a two-part breath. First into the belly, then into the chest. Finally, exhale through the mouth and repeat for two minutes.
Upon Awakening
Most of us are very fatigued in the morning due to inadequate sleep or restless nights. Before starting your morning breathing cycle, get out of bed, and use lukewarm water to wash your face with the YELLE Milk & Honey Cleanser. After cleansing, follow the steps in the YELLE Essential System or your personalized YELLE skin care routine. Next, return to a comfortable space in your home and in a standing position, bend forward from the waist, allow your arms to dangle and inhale slowly and deeply, return to a standing position by rolling up slowly. Hold your breath for just a few seconds then exhale as you return to the original position, bending forward from the waist.

When your mind is racing
The American Institute of Stress recommends combining visualization and deep breathing to stop an acute stress response. Visualization techniques and breathing can help calm the mind and help reduce anxiety when anxious thoughts creep in. This visualizing technique from the mindfulminutes.com website is among our favorite to use when our mind is racing. Visualize quiet as a thick clear liquid, filling your head with peace and quiet. Allow the clear liquid to pour into your body and fill you up until you feel like a liquid ball. Breathe deeply and stay in the moment.
4,7,8 Method
Got stress breathe in for a count of 4, hold the breath for a count of 7 and exhale through the mouth for a count of eight. Repeat. This pattern of breathing is good for individuals that are chronically under stress and under breathing as a result of the chronic stress.
